The Hebrew tabernacle was later called the temple. The design was dictated to Moses by God in every detail. It served as an earthly sanctuary or dwelling place for YHVH, God of the Hebrews. The tabernacle foreshadowed the coming of Christ in whom was God (John 10:30).
